Britt Gilbert is President and CEO of Commonwealth Financial Group, an independent financial services firm providing customized and innovative solutions that help to enhance financial security and create wealth. Mr. Gilbert, who founded Commonwealth in 2001, is responsible for ensuring the continued growth and development of the business and specializes in consulting with clients and associates of CFG on business continuation strategies, estate planning and executive compensation strategies.

Through his experience and direction, Commonwealth is committed to providing unbiased, straight forward answers to the needs and concerns of its clients. Employees of the firm advise clients on retirement strategies, estate protection, tax strategies*, risk management and wealth accumulation. Headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, the firm strives to be one of the southeast's premier financial services firms.

Mr. Gilbert has been advising clients since 1996. Before founding Commonwealth Financial Group Mr. Gilbert held senior positions with a major brokerage firm as well as with a large insurance firm. He earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Finance from The College of Charleston. He is a Registered Representative and an Investment Advisor Representative of Securian Financial Services, Inc, holding registrations in multiple states. His industry background and involvement includes FINRA series 7, series 6, series 63, series 65, and series 24 examinations as well as membership in the Financial Planning Association and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. The families and businesses he helps face a variety of complicated tax, estate planning, and financial issues, and desire a long-term relationship with an advisor who will be responsive and committed.Ê He provides them with a reliable resource for their financial questions and confidence for their lifeÕs goals.

Active in the business community Britt has been involved in several volunteer organizations helping to raise money for Habitat for Humanity Foundation, The MUSC Children's Hospital, and the Leukemia Society. Mr. Gilbert and the firm takes great pride in their relationship with the College of Charleston as a contributing Business Partner to help support academic excellence and being involved with youth sports in the community. Mr. Gilbert is chairman of the Commonwealth Foundation, a non-profit organization that was founded specifically to give back to the local community. The foundation supports an annual golf tournament benefiting the C.A.R.E.S clinic, a clinical outreach program at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Mr. Gilbert is a native of Charleston, South Carolina. Britt is married to Heather Gilbert and they live on Daniel Island, South Carolina with their two daughters, Evan and Elle. During his free time Britt enjoys golfing, running, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
